Restored 3.8lb Elwell Axe head with hand carved ash, kauri, walnut and purple heart handle

This traditional plumb axe is handmade by restoring a vintage head and fitting it with a beautiful hand carved handle. A true heirloom piece that can be used for generations. 

Made by Lewis (Taz) Nichols in Northland, who is a master craftsman, an axeman and a huge fan of live fire cooking.  

Head - 3.5lb Elwell (UK, likely mid to late 1800's)

Handle - 29inch hand carved American Ash with Walnut / Purple Heart wedge insert and Kauri palm swell. Paracord wrap at head. Paracord wrap on handle. 

Includes handmade leather sheath.
